If you're thinking about making a sex tape, don't. While we're far from prudish, the risk involved in filming an erotic escapade is enough to keep us blushing. Just spare yourself. Here's why it's a terrible idea.

The sex tape might have made a few celebs famous (Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton we're looking at you), but even the trappings of fame and fortune can't justify the pitfalls of making an X-rated home movie. Here's why you should NEVER, ever, make a sex tape.

1. He might show it to his friends

You'll be the star of "movie night" in ways you don't even want to imagine.

2. Sometimes an ex can be vindictive

Of course they loved you while they were with you. But when that relationship is kaput, all bets are pretty much off. If they take your "home movie" and hit "upload", good luck keeping that reputation you speak of.

3. You'll have your body/performance critiqued by strangers

If your tape does make it onto the wild wild web, every inch of your body will be up for discussion (as well as your sex skills). Sounds lovely, huh?

4. When it leaks, how do you it explain to your family?

5. Then your kids WILL see it

Good luck explaining that one.

6. Oh, and they'll be ridiculed

The taunts will be endless. ENDLESS, you hear?!

7. Then they'll not want to be seen with you in public

8. You'll have to explain to future boyfriends

And there's no such thing as breaking it to 'em gently.

9. Then deal with the judgment of their family/friends

As we all know, meeting parents and friends is tough. Try factoring in your amateur porn career and watch things get extra sticky.

11. You'll be mocked on social media

Memes and spoofs galore. Can you picture them now?

12. You'll fuel your haters

Here's something for them to yap about over brunch: your legs over easy.

13. It could possibly ruin your career

We're going to go ahead and assume you wouldn't want this added to your resume.

14. You'll regret it once you break-up

Do you feel that? It's the aching pang of regret. It's a bitch, ain't it?

15. Uh, it's a bad idea

Just thought we'd reiterate that.
